Ronaldinho, that soccer sorcerer with buck teeth, is all set to pack his bags at Barcelona and move to Chelsea next season.
Ronaldinho was reportedly keen to move to Chelsea this season itself and even had a talk with Barcelona president Joan Laporta regarding the switch over. But with time running out and the transfer window shut, the Brazilian can only hope to join the English club in July. Chelsea’s Russian owner Roman Abramovich was keen to rope in Ronaldinho, the two-time World Footballer of the Year, and he spoke to the player’s brother-agent Roberto de Assis Moreira to finalise the move. Both the clubs, however, could not arrive at a deal as Chelsea thinks the player is worth 70million euros while Barcelona is demanding around 100m euros.
In such a logjam, all three parties - both the clubs and the player himself - have decided not to do anything haste and rather wait till July next year. Ronaldinho is reportedly frustrated because it did not happen this year but at least he has the consolation that he can move to Stamford Bridge next year.
In case Ronaldinho indeed moves to Chelsea next season, it would mean an end to Barcelona’s ‘Fab Four’ attack, which comprises Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o, Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry.
